About Us

Our Mission & Purpose

The Center for Community Stewardship (C4CS) brings people together and facilitates their conversations to develop dreams and realize actions for their community.

Our mission is to energize and facilitate individuals and groups to be active in matters that affect their lives, cultivating collaborative conversations about visions and activities that can make their community a more wonderful place.

Our purpose is to nurture healthy and whole communities capable of innovative, appreciative and collaborative action.

We do this work by:

  • Serving as a conduit for funding from a donor to a particular project that otherwise has no legal entity or structure to receiving the funding;
  • Offering skillful processes and experienced coaching; and
  • Nurturing thoughtful, rational and productive deliberation through facilitation services.

Lisa Dugdale is the 30 hour a week Executive Director for the Center for Community Stewardship. Before working with C4CS, she started and ran a nonprofit in Ann Arbor, MI. She has over 15 years of nonprofit consulting experience in the areas of facilitation, meeting coaching, program evaluation, needs assessments, and leadership coaching. She has Masters Degrees in Social Work and Public Policy from the University of Michigan, and completed coach training with Martha Beck Institute.

Sara Flynn offers contract Accounting services to C4CS. She has an MBA and has Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional (CNAP) credentials.
