Dialogue Circles Facilitator Training
The Center for Community Stewardship is excited to announce that they are collaborating with the Frank Zeidler Center for Public Discussion in Milwaukee to bring a process called Dialogue Circles to the Dane County area. The Zeidler Center has ten years of experience helping communities and organizations have challenging conversations, using a structured process that allows people to deeply listen and understand differing perspectives.
The Center for Community Stewardship has been looking for a way to expand our ability to offer additional types of facilitation in the Dane County area, and is excited to be able to bring the Zeidler Center here to offer training in this methodology. Utilizing people who have completed this facilitator training as well as Milwaukee-area Zeidler facilitators, the two organizations are planning on offering a series of Dialogue Circles in Spring of 2018.
Seeking Facilitator Trainees
We are recruiting 20-30 community members who wish to be trained as facilitators. Training will take place on January 20th from 9am – 4pm, and will include lunch. You do not need to have any background in facilitation – you just need to be comfortable facilitating instead of participating in a conversation, taking notes, and redirecting participants when they depart from the group conversation agreements. We are particularly interested in having a diverse set of facilitators of varying ages, races, ethnicities, and professional backgrounds who are representative of our community. Facilitators who are interested in being an active facilitator in our Spring Dialogue series will be given priority. We ask for a contribution of $50 toward the cost of training, and are seeking sponsors to cover the remainder of the cost. We are offering several reduced price slots for people unable to pay this contribution – please contact us for more information.
