Dessert for Syria Fundraiser June 9th

Welcome to our newest project, Open Doors for Refugees!
They are holding a fundraiser on June 9th at 7pm.
Come learn more about the Syrian refugee situation, and about the resettlement of refugees in the Madison area. Dr. Tarif Bakdash, a Syrian born pediatric neurologist, will share his recent mission to the Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan. After his presentation, representatives from both Lutheran Social Services and Jewish Social Services will discuss their current and anticipated refugee resettlement programs.  In honor of Ramadan, traditional desserts prepared by members of the Madison Muslim community will be served after sundown. A conversation about this crisis, and possible ways for our community to respond, will close the evening. Please RSVP to OpenDoorsForRefugees@gmail.com or call (608) 438-5240. There is a suggested $10-$50 contribution.
