Legislative Semester

The Legislative Semester is an innovative high school government and civics curriculum consisting of a large-scale legislative simulation. Initially created in the mid-1990s by Steve Arnold, a former social studies teacher at West Chicago Community High School, it is currently in use by 10 schools in three states where it has been popular among students, teachers, parents and administrators alike. The curriculum has also garnered attention among social studies education researchers, and advocates for civic education. For more information about the program please see www.legislativesemester.com.

Grants and donations provide us with the opportunity to keep the curriculum up to date, facilitate sharing between schools and assist new schools in adopting the simulation as part of their required government courses. Donations in any amount would be appreciated and are tax deductible. Feel free to contact us at legislativesemester@gmail.com with any questions.
