Wisconsin Empathy Guild Cosponsors International Intensive Training in Nonviolent Communication in Wisconsin April 22nd

International Intensive Training (IIT)

An experiential workshop for developing fluency in Nonviolent Communication

Oconomowoc, Wisconsin

April 22 – May 1, 2016

Wisconsin Empathy Guild is cosponsoring an International Intensive Training (IIT) Nonviolent Communication (NVC) here in Wisconsin.

Nonviolent Communication, sometimes known as Compassionate Communication, is based on the idea that all human beings have the capacity for compassion and only resort to violence or behavior that harms others when they don’t recognize more effective strategies for meeting their needs.

Practicing Nonviolent Communication supports us in making conscious choices that are aligned with our values: in our thinking, our use of language, and our use of power. It contributes to peace by facilitating connection across differences in gender, age, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and religious and political beliefs.

This 9-day, residential training, developed by NVC founder, Marshall Rosenberg, is an “immersion experience” that offers the opportunity to live the process of Nonviolent Communication in community, over an extended period of time, to develop NVC knowledge, skills, and consciousness.

The training runs from Friday, April 22 through Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Olin Sang Ruby Union Institute in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. IT will be lead by Certified Trainers from the international Center for Nonviolent Communication:

  • Myra Walden (Chicago, Illinois area)
  • Jeff Brown (Columbus, Ohio)
  • Kathleen Macferran (Seattle, Washington area)
  • Yoram Mosenzan (Netherlands, originally Israel)

Join us to discover and practice life-changing skills in a supportive community of like-minded people from around the world!
